Looks like it'll be a decent one this time, lasting about 2 hours. It never crossed my mind about it effecting people with a lot of solar panels installed.

I like an eclipse, we may also be able to see a comet which is coming our way unexpectedly fairly soon.
It wasn't expected to survive passing very close to the sun but it did.

The last time I experienced one I was in the Yorkshire Dales out walking near Grassington. An eerie hush descended while the eclipse was on.
