The Wailin Jennys

I think you might love this all girl trio whose members hail from Canada. They love to harmonize and each have lovely voices. They sing bluegrass/gospel style music that I love.

Anyone into the 'Supergroup's' genre?. A big favourite of mine were 'The Travelling Wilbury's'...(said to have been named by HRH Prince Charles).

Sadly, they've now disbanded, (due to the death's of two of the members), but I reckon my favourite track was this next...

...'End Of The Line'...

...(incidently, does anyone know the significance of the empty rocking-chair with the guitar propped in it?.

Falc, The video was made after Roy Orbison died, there is also a quick look of a photo of Roy.

I recently found a couple of old cassettes of theirs.

Hi, Hammer. It seem's you're way ahead of me when it comes to 'The Travelling Wilbury's'...(me being a quite recent member an' all), and I applaud your superior knowledge, Sir!.

However, as the subject of Harmonic singing has recently raised its' head, I wonder if anyone remember's an all-girl choir who's rendition of 'At The End Of The Day' alway's concluded Radio Luxembourg's broadcast at 02:00 every night?...(used to love that!).

I've never been able to source that track...but I've found many others...one of which is this...

...'Dream of Olwen'...by 'The Luton Girl's Choir, taken from the 1940's movie, 'While I Live'...enjoy!.

Thanks for that Falc,
I have always had a passion for music of all sorts, probably because I could never sing or master any instrument.

The one you are looking for, could it be Steve Conway and the Hastings Girls Choir ?

Re: The Wailin Jennys

My many thanks, Hammer, you've finally ended a 40+ year hunt for a track for which I've been searching...you have no Idea of how grateful I feel, my friend!...so might I include a statement?.
I'm a multi-instrumentalist, but my wife, Sylv, can't play a note on 'owt...but that doesn't make either of us a lesser music-fan, ok?...(try slaggin' off Andrea Boccelli an' she'll never be yer friend again, lol!).
My point is, Hammer, being a music-lover doesn't stem from the ability to play an instrument, it simply stem's from the SOUL...and you obviously have the soul of a music-lover, ok?...therefore, simply enjoy your music, whatever genre it might invoke, ok?.

Having said all that, my friend, perhap's you might enjoy listening to this?...

...(it last's I hr 23 minute's, and worth every second, ok?).

Re: The Wailin Jennys

Hi Falc,

You are more than welcome, I am glad it turned out to be the one you were after.
There seems to be an MP3 download on Amazon of Steve Conway singing it but I am not at all sure if it is a solo version.

I cannot seem to find any details of the proper recording anywhere in my normal music searches.

As for the music, yes indeed it has at times literally been a life saver and there is always new stuff to explore and enjoy.

Thanks for your suggestion, I will give it an airing.
I see you are near to Spotland, it's been a long time since I last went to Sandy Lane.
