The friends system on here seems pretty pointless anyway, I don't see what purpose it has other than showing your "tribe", on places like facebook it makes more sense as you then see the other persons feed or chat to them easier. DW, if you click on a friend's photograph in your profile you have instant access to their profile so can tell if they are on line you can also send a message without having to search for them. I find it useful if I wish to contact fellow Moderators quickly but rarely send PMs to anyone else .

I have never refused a request nor deleted anyone, been deleted meself a few times but that never bothered me.I think it takes a certain amount of courage for a person to ask to be a friend, and to refuse could be very hurtful to a genuine person.
When you’ve been here for a while the friends list acts as a reminder of old friends. Several of my friends still showing on my profile have passed on and whenever I look there, which is not very often, I think of them and say a silent prayer for their souls, they will stay there for as long as I’m here, I consider meself lucky to have them there in the first place, God rest them.
