I picked this up at Tolpuddle this year.

Empire and Revolution: A Socialist History of the First World War by Dave Sherry

Quite fascinating how many mutinies there were during this War that were not generally reported and not widely known about now.

Have you read the follow up books Julie? They are all excellent. I've just ordered the last one in the series. I've been meaning to do it for ages but just got round to it.

Me too Julie, long ago now. I also saw the film "Clan of the Cave Bear" (I think thatīs what it was called), but it was a very poor effort compared to the book.

Skallagrigg by William Horwood. I've read this a few times over the years and it's wonderful. Moving, cruel, spiritual, uplifting and thought provoking, and if anyone knows somebody with cerebral palsy I would highly recommend it specially.

I am just starting Broken and Betrayed - Jayne Senior, it's about the child abuse in Rotherham and the many attempts by several different bodies to keep it covered up.
Should make interesting reading..
