This could be on any device, including TVs, desktop computers, laptops, mobile phones, tablets, games consoles, digital boxes, DVD, Blu-ray and VHS recorders. This applies regardless of which television channels a person receives or how those channels are received. The licence fee is not a payment for BBC services (or any other television service), although licence fee revenue is used to fund the BBC.
The requirement to hold a TV Licence and to pay a fee for it is mandated by law under the Communications Act 2003 and Communications (Television Licensing) Regulations 2004 (as amended). It is an offence to watch or record television programmes as they are being shown on any channel and on any broadcast platform (terrestrial, satellite, cable and the internet) or download or watch BBC programmes on demand, including catch up TV, on BBC iPlayer without a valid TV Licence.
Err, so what?

As it happens we do have a TV licence even though we seldom watch anything that The Beeb broadcasts least of all the News.

HOWEVER the Beeb delivers quite a lot on the T'interweb let alone Radio.

As for the high salaries, The Beeb flog quite a lot of things to overseas broadcasters and the high earners do have a high presence in the global market. Lineker in particular.

Don't care, no one is worth that much unless they can perform miracle surgery or solve World poverty.

Why not?

If their earning capacity exceeds their cost of "ownership" then what's the problem?

It's only the free market in action. If there's two things that I like it's the free market and very small government.

I already said that twice on this thread, but in not so many words.
I wonder if my Amateur radio (and TV transmitting) licence covers domestic TV as well?
Don’t be silly, of course it don’t.

Information from TV Licensing's own website on the link below if anyone wishes to check out exactly what the regulations are.

There are also some relevant questions and answers on there:

Do we really have to pay this jug-eared crisp advertiser so much money to tell us that so-and-so scored a goal when we're actually watching the match?

Sack him and all the other hangers on.

I agree. I know plenty of people who could do as good a job, if not better than Juggsy and would be happy to be on just 100K per year.
