Anyway the referendum in 1975 was advisory as well - maybe we shouldn't have been in the EU in the first place - or maybe we were in the EU illegally all this time.

There some more facts for you .. enjoy !

Not sure whether you noticed but the referendum was held in June 2016. The decision by the ECJ that article 50 can be unilaterally rescinded was not made till 10th Dec 2018.

Wonder if that's why you didn't see it in the referendum

On 10 December 2018, the European Court of Justice (ECJ) delivered its judgment in the Wightman case on the revocation of a notification of an intention to withdraw from the EU under Article 50 TEU.

At last!! you are correct, the 1975 referendum was indeed only 'advisory', however, the vote was whether or not we CONTINUED as members which was voted for by 67% to 33%.

There some facts for you, enjoy

If we hold one after we leave and the result is pro EU has anyone considered that the result would not be Remain.

We would be a new entrant, so no automatic rebate and having to join the Euro.

How many people would vote for that?
If there were to be another referendum it is likely that The Article 50 period would be extended to accommodate it

I don't think parliament has enough majority for it.

That backfired on you, didn't it?

Still, if you are content to hand over your country to a foreign power, so be it.
Foreign powers have been steadily buying up our country since the Thatcher days.

Hi

That would be interesting,

Firstly we would have to ask the EU and every EU Country would have to agree.

Secondly we would need a new Act of Parliament for us to agree to do so.

We have less than 40 Parliamentary days left.

Possibly although there is speculation that May is looking to do just that as there are bill that would need passing if her deal is accepted but insufficient time and there is no mention of a new Act of Parliament.

It may require going back to all EU countries or it might be that Barnier holds their proxy as he does with the negotiation

Nothing at all, just as there’s nothing wrong with foreign workers adding value to our economy or agreeing common standards and laws with foreigners encourages that foreign investment.

Same thing, actually it was called the EEC, just another fact for you.

We never voted for a lot of things that have been agreed to by various governments, that's what they are there for.
