Joint agreement with Norway already signed and now the joint agreement with the EU looks to be done - which means the EU flow our rules on our fisheries in our territorial waters.
I sincerely hope so.

They have had their own way for many a long year, so I suppose that their being obliged to make major changes after such a long time would be rather difficult for the poor dears.

Not that I feel in the slightest bit sorry for them.

Hi

Barnier is not the Boss.

He is the David Frost of the EU.

He is doing what his Political Bosses say.

Brexit is a side show for the EU, they are much more focused on Covid and the damage to their economies.

Protectionism is everything now.

The second biggest contributor walking out the door is a sideshow ????

Are you serious?

Brexit is not a sideshow, COVID is under control now, EU businesses need their 2nd biggest export market in the world in order to recover.

Look at their trade surplus are you saying they don't need it because they make it up within the EU member states ? They are all in recession....

No newspaper articles on the continent about the brits leaving. Much more important things to keep our leaders busy. Barnier is free to move within his mandate.
A quote from your link to the express:

While only an early sign of progress, it was enough for Mr Barnier, the EU’s chief Brexit negotiator, to discuss.

The Frenchman said: “We are now going to be starting a discussion on more specific parameters which could well be productive and constructive.

Sounds to me like the brits have given in, outside the view of journalists. So contrary to this thread's title, it seems the brits are caving in on fisheries.
It could be of course because of the similar hard stance of the EU on crime-fighting. https://www.theguardian.com/politics...hting-database

Your making things up again. Barnier has been told the rules of out fishing policy and if he doesn't agree them he gets ko agreement at all. He's caved in under pressure because he is failing miserably and needs to move on to trade.

By the way, the EU gets its intelligence from the UK anyway. Why else do you think that Barnier is desperate for us to keep cooperating with Eurointelligence ?

And guess who's stopping an agreement being reached between us and the EU on intelligence sharing? Yeah, the bloody ECJ of course has ruled that way because we're now a third country (hate that, makes us sound like a third world country like a certain northern South American country). That's despite us helping to build the database and providing most of the information for its database.

"Third country" is what the EU call sovereign, democratic nations. Its very misleading considering the EU isn't even a country itself. Just more pretence from the unelected wannabes

In legal speak the term "third party" is quite usual. But if third country makes you feel a developing country, you should do some soulsearching why that is

And should you want to talk about that sharing the next few years, its still the ECJ who has jurisdiction about that. Or do you think any british court would have ?
As you seem to forget, its the UK that stole data. That's one of the reasons why you can't be trusted with sensitive information: you're just common thieves.
