Freeview channel 81
Visited a neighbour last night and he remarked on having bought a new television, it had HD and built in freeview , he showed me channel 81 called Talking pictures, it was a channel that showed old nostalgic films almost continuously, it was as I mentioned a new television, tried to retune my older set but no luck, I`m hooked and was thinking of buying a new set. it looked really interesting, anyone ever seen it ?17-12-2015, 09:02 PM

Sat on me sofa scrolling through some topics on over50's and came across your post Bill, the telly was on and the wife is fast asleep so I put in number 81 and yes! I came across 'Talking Pictures' it looks very good.I also have just purchased a new Samsung TV so I guess it must just appear on the latest HD TV's. My old TV was about ten years old and I can't believe how much they have advanced in that time.
I also have a Humax HD recorder connected to the TV and have just tried to select channel 81 on that but it does not even appear on the list.

I had a thread about it here some months ago Bill, The wife and me watch it very regularly, the old films are all digitally remastered and come across crystal clear. We get it through the satellite dish but with the freeview I believe you have to manually tune it, go to the talking pictures site and you will get the frequency, they will tell you how to get it in, anyway it was supposed to go on freeview this month. It's definitely one of the best stations out there for old films, you will like it I'm sure, good luck with it.
