Fair enough. But once you've paid for it, it's yours and they have no right to stop you putting it on where you want.

Re: Shopping at John lewis

I would have tried it on outside the shop, once I had paid for it, if it didn’t fit, I would have taken it straight back in and get my refund.

Re: Shopping at John lewis

You can't try anything on in any store at present.
Daughter & I bought jeans in the Evans attached to Tesco in Plymouth, we both bought the same size. Got home, tried mine on & they fitted, unfortunately Daughters fitted her as well, because if they hadn't I'd have got a free pair of jeans because they would have fitted me.

But the shop staff are only complying with company policy, so why fall out with them for the sake of a twenty yard walk? I'm sure anyway that they'd rather you were able to try it on in the first place.

Yes, that's true.

Imagine if they confiscated every banana that the shoppers pawed over in the supermarkets.

Re: Shopping at John lewis

I found my only salvation to the craziness of COVID in John Lewis on Saturday.

Me and my lad were walking out the shop the wrong way as its on a one way system and true to fashion, we were stopped by a girl who was manning the entrance/exit.

She told us to please wait a second, then as nobody was entering or exiting the shop, we were allowed to leave without going the other way.

Finally, some common sense.
