Re: September Competition winner

Many, many thanks for the votes and comments. I do feel there were others more deserving, maybe a suggestion would be to have a winner and some 'honourable mentions', because there were some excellent shots this month.

This was a bit of a lucky shot. We were on a coach tour of Canada and stayed overnight in Banff, but the weather was abysmal. The next morning, it was still wet and raining, but the coach guide had the sense to call the cable car station at the top of the mountain and was told the weather was excellent with low lying clouds. On top of that, this pic was taken with my brand new DLSR which I only brought a week beforehand and was still trying to work out what all the buttons do (Some years later, I'm still trying to work it out ). This was taken in RAW format before I knew what it was and at the time, I should have taken it in Jpeg which would have brought out the sky more and enhanced with a polarising filter with built in image processing.

I really don't consider this a good shot. The colour balance was off and it took a lot of work to pull it back. We are always looking for a chance to go back to Banff and surrounding areas, because the scenery is amazing and I can take some better pictures, now I have had a lot of experience, got a better spec camera and quality lenses.
