Don't get confused between a SpAd and an unelected EU bureaucrat - the two are very much different.

You should read his blog about "seeing rooms" its fascinating.
No genius. All of his type are the same. Blah blah ideas and waffle. They always sound good and then a few years later people wonder why they listened. There's no magic bullet to sort things out or fix things. People who come up with the blah blah never think things through properly. Blue sky garbage. Then they are gone when there's a whiff of stink.

I don't agree that there is any difference between an unelected EU bureaucrat pulling the strings and an unelected spud here telling the PM what to do and not do.

Re: Boris Johnson plots 'Revenge'

By the way I have just skimmed part of the Odyssean education essay and the focus on decentralisation is alarming. Decentralisation of decision making is already rife in public services, hence one person on the recycling thread is being fined if they put the wrong thing in the bin but others can put in what they like or have it collected. This is why we have a postcode lottery because it's been Tory policy for years. It causes chaos and disparity. What is needed is a more centralised direction to ensure that one side of a local authority boundary is the same as the other. Of course if you pass the buck then you can pass the blame.

You mean the President of the European Commission. This post is elected by the European Council. The European Council is made up of elected heads of state. So no it's not the same as a spud because it's not an unelected post.

Von der leyen wasnt even on the ballot and when she was presented as the only candidate she only won by 9 votes.

The difference is that the one has a say in political decisions and the other does not.

I'll leave you to work out which is which.

It seems that in the UK anyone can have a say in political decisions...
