Re: When do you put your Christmas Tree up?

I didn't know you could hire them either Meg. I wonder if they come and decorate it for you too.

Mine will go up a week before Christmas.
If I put it up now I would get sick of seeing it - and think of all the dust it collects..

Re: When do you put your Christmas Tree up?

I have a little tree for the front porch. Have already decorated it, but it's under the table in the living room at present.
The charity tree at the Theatre Royal Plymouth, will be decorated next week in their vestibule. The organiser found our lights too. Yay! They got misplaced last year.

Now I'm worried as this question kind of supposes I actually took it down

Re: When do you put your Christmas Tree up?

Oh frabjous joy! I have been waiting over 35 years to NOT put up a Christmas Tree and this year that time has finally arrived.

I am going to Canberra to have Christmas with my kids rather than them all coming here. It will be great.

I did string up one set of lights around the lounge window to celebrate.

Never mind, you can still enjoy my Christmas tree from a few years ago.

Re: When do you put your Christmas Tree up?

I'm still finding needles from last year!

Still..I do like a real tree.

Prolly get one next week, either drive out to a plantation and get one cut or buy one from a Salvo's roadside stall.

OTOH, i may ditch the "traditional" pine tree and go find a gum tree branch

OTOH 2..I may even dig out the poor old dead lemon tree.

create a new tradition. this tree was our first christmas tree in our new home 3 years ago.
Poor thing sat inside in a smallish pot for about 3 months with the bells hanging amongst increasingly yellowing leaves..I eventually potted it upstairs on a windy balcony. It struggled and gave up the ghost this spring.

Now there it stands, sad and naked, rattling it's bones in the wind.

Maybe honoring it in this way will get me some redemption points from the tree lovers guilt
