You are taking one single extreme travesty of justice .
Ignoring the many innocent people including little children who have died terrible deaths at the hands of serial murderers in the 65 years since .

People including 200 MPs didn’t want to see the boy hanged .
No one did .

How many times do I have to repeat proven heinous murderers ?

Yes they don’t get assaulted , have urine and feces thrown on them .
They don’t spend ALL their working hours shut up with dangerous criminals

Here's some more : Timothy Evans, Mahmood Hussein Mattan, George Kelly. All murdered by the state and then exonerated. There have been many such cases worldwide. Not extreme at all. It happens and it doesn't happen if there is no death penalty.

How do you know what it's like? You think it's nice to be killing someone and then clearing up a dead body? It's bad enough watching someone die a natural death. I can't imagine how an executioner must feel.

Plus in terms of cost it's far more expensive to have people on death row.

Executioners CHOOSE to do the job, as I see it, to be an executioner you have to be cold hearted

Yes because he was found guilty under the law at the time of 'common purpose, joint enterprise'. If innocent people are being found guilty, then change the law, overhaul the justice system so innocent people are not found guilty.

What constitutes right and wrong changes over the decades as the human mind continues to evolve. We use modern day standards to judge those of the past, which for some things is wrong in my opinion and Derek is one of them.

What Muddy say's is true. He never talked about his job much but my fathers next-door neighbour was a prison guard from HM Prison Swaleside on the Isle of Sheppy, who specialised in dealing with prison riots. During a conversation about life as a prison guard, the things Muddy posted does happen, it's something prison guards face on a daily basis.

Found out from my father that he quit his job and returned to London with his family, father has new neighbours now.
