Of course they should be repatriated, they’re not ours. They belong to Greece, Lord Elgin nicked them in cahoots with the Ottoman Empire. The Greeks are entitled to their artefacts of the Classical World. On the other hand, maybe we should keep all the marbles we can get, we seem to have lost ours!

Here's an idea, why don't we take high definition laser guided prints of the marbles then laser cut our own exact copies?

Why am I completely unconcerned about anything Barmy says?

Am I in the slightest interested in anything the EU demands or threatens?

Who cares?

If we should leave now, before the so-called transition period ends, what will be lose? Of course, the EU will lose billions of our subsequent payments.

There is no point in continuing any discussions. They have done nothing else but make demands and offered nothing. Neither will they, in my opinion.

All our efforts should be on arranging trade deals with non-EU countries. They, at least, stand a fair chance of being agreed. We should also be concentrating on reforming our own practices and investing in our own industries, such as still remain, and encouraging the creation of more.

The EU is now a complete waste of time and, if forecasts are to be believed, will collapse in a few years anyway. Let's get out now without any more ado.

Is that the same bunch that was boasting yesterday about not keeping a level playing field?
And then to think the negotiations haven't even started! We're in for some beautiful rooster behaviour by the negotiators in the next two weeks.

The Downing Street intervention came despite both Greek and EU officials insisting that the clause, proposed by Italy, Spain, Cyprus and Greece, was not related to the marbles held by the British museum but merely to a desire to stop the fraudulent movement of antiquities around Europe. Isn't every pebble at stonehenge carefully guarded?
