I can never forgive myself for.............

Triggered by the discussion on the regrets thread prompted me to start this. I do believe that we would benefit from forgiving ourselves from past actions etc. So what things can you not forgive yourself?

whilst living in HK I was offered the sale of a beautiful jaguar, one owner - the retiring matron - I had just moved there with family and could not afford the asking price - I think I have now forgiven myself but it took a long time and I now often wonder what my life would have been like with that beautiful jaguar.

talking of Mercedes - I once came across a nice white Mercedes with a huge dent in the side and the owner had written on the car - this is how a Mercedes Benz! - get it?

Sorry I don't understand why you couldn't forgive yourself for not buying the car. Surely if you had bought it and found yourself and your family desperately out of pocket that would have been much more unforgivable? No car, especially a jaguar, a make I dislike, is worth it!

I thought we were going to get a terrible unburdening of yourself. How disappointing

well looking back on the experience I could have explored ways with the owner of buying the car without making a one off outlay but I was an honorable man in those days! I could also have secured a bank loan but the pressures of a new life were all too much - need I say more?

Surely a bank loan should be only taken out to buy something important not a luxury car?
