Tax dodgers are hiding behind charities, this really needs stopping.

Well my vote would be to give the charities the money in these trusts and see how quick the tax dodgers are to set new ones up. At least that way someone gets the benefit of the money. Simply stopping the practise will just send them off looking for another way to dodged the tax they owe.

It really is disgraceful and I don't believe all the charities are unaware of it as it isn't exactly a secret that some people do this - that's why there's such a thing as Due Diligence. If people don't want to contribute to Britain's upkeep, then they shouldn't stay here enjoying the benefits of everyone else's contributions (generally from those who can least afford it).

By all means give the charities the money hidden away in these trusts now, then go after the donors for tax evasion as well!!! - that'll squeeze 'em till their pips squeak!!!

Geoff the money isn't hidden away at all, they are saying it is to avoid tax, the truth is it is a rich mans scam.

Precisely Arthur, but since they've declared it be in the possession (in a trust fund) of the respective charities, then that money should now be handed over to the declared charity and then HMRC should go after the donors for tax evasion too!!!
