Re: My new Mobile

Regional attitudes must vary with these stores as I walked out of Car Phone Warehouse for the same reasons as Mups walked out of 02.

As my tablet gave up the ghost I needed a replacement for holiday use only. My mistake was saying " I just want a cheap one". Interest in me as a potential customer faded quicker than you could say Jack Flash. .

I went 4 doors down to an independant shop and due to their consideration and help I bought one from them instead

I didn't know if it was a simple fault that could be rectified, or whether my phone was dying as it was quite a few years old.

I was with 02, so went to the 02 shop to ask what they thought was the matter with it.
The shop was empty except for the two sales assistants.
It didn't take long to understand why!

These two girl's English wasn't good, which made it difficult to understand each other for a start.
They didn't smile or feel welcoming at all.
They weren't remotely interested in looking at my phone or offering advice on repair, they just were intent on pushing me into buying a new phone off them. They were really pushy and insistent, which put me right off.

Their attitude was so bad, I left the shop.

Next, I tried the Car Phone Warehouse - what a difference.
The girl in there spent over two hours with me, talking about my phone and in the end, helping me choose another.

She set everything up for me, explained how to use it, sorted the Sim I asked for, transferred everything off my old phone for me - even the home screen photo of my dogs. She also said to go back anytime if I wasn't sure of anything and they would always help.

During the following week, I wasn't sure of quite a few things so called in the shop again.
Another assistant helped this time. Another 2 hours she spent with me.
She went through everything again, reset everything I needed and took ages explaining patiently (I am rather slow on the uptake with new technology), and she even wrote notes down for me to keep incase I forgot what she said!

Then the icing on the cake was, they didn't have a glass screen cover I wanted, but said there was a shop next door that sold things like that. She asked if I wanted her to come with me to make sure I got the right thing!
I couldn't believe how kind she was.

So she told her boss she would only be 5 mins, and escorted me to the accessory shop and told the bloke behind the counter what I needed.
He had the new screen cover and took my phone and fitted it on for me.

So now I have my nice new phone, and her notes if I get stuck.

How is that for extraordinary service?
I can't speak highly enough of the Car Phone Warehouse and their superb assistance.

What a lovely tale.

Re: My new Mobile

Individuals with a poor attitude are everywhere, i recently went to replace my phone to my EE branch.

Up front i told the sales woman what i reqd, she then set about with trying to confuse me with the jargon they use and tried to get me to sign up to something totally inappropriate.

I declined and she stormed off in a huff. so i called in to another EE shop 200yds away, very different approach by the salesmen, and after listening carefully,i got what i wanted.

Glad you got your new phone sorted Mups. It's a bit of a minefield when buying any new technology. I have to say, I have always used the Car Phone Warehouse and they have always been good to deal with.

Cheeky blighter.

Actually something else made me smile when I came out the phone shop. I was heading to my car in the multi-storey when a MAN stopped me and asked if there was another floor to the car park, as he couldn't find his car.

See Swims, I'm not the only one and it amused me even more that it was a bloke! I smiled all the way back to me car.
