What have the protestors achieved?Have they freed any of those who suffered under this evil practice? No, none of them have been liberated.
Has the fact that the statue was erected been undone? No, it has still been erected and stood since 1895. That remains a fact.
They have removed a daily reminder of this shameful activity from which Bristol benefitted.

the police was quite likely the result of an intervention by the
Bristol city mayor, who seems to have a bias towards the protesters?

Mr Magoo! It adds to my suspicion that the statue destroyed
yesterday was not the original statue, as it appeared to be fashioned
from a fibreglass/ plaster mix to me from what l saw whilst
watching the video of the desecration??
So maybe the morons wasted their energy and the real statue
stands elsewhere?
This would also explain the inaction of the authorities??

The Mayor of Bristol, Martin Rees has said that he felt no "sense of loss" after the controversial bronze statue of Edward Colston was pulled down and thrown into the harbour by protesters on Sunday but then went on to say the statue would be retrieved from the harbour "at some point" and it was likely to end up in a city museum.
