Reversing Camera

Anybody fitted a wireless reversing camera to their car. Did it work OK? was the transmitter outside the car and receiver inside?

I need a reversing camera purely to hitch up my camper/trailer it is easy with guidance but by myself it is a bugger. A cheap reversing camera would be all I need because all I need to do is get the tow ball within an inch of the hitch.

Re: Reversing Camera

A reversing camera would be a gismo too far for me. The car I bought last year has heaps of gismos, most of which I have disabled as they would drive me bonkers.

Re: Reversing Camera

One was fitted as standard on my X-Trail but people who didn't know that were amazed at my caravan hitching skills..

Malcolm, why wouldn't you check the camera if reversing up to another vehicle or some sort of obstruction? Or is it that you never need to go backwards in your world...

Re: Reversing Camera

I've driven vans most of my life so I've got very good at reversing using only wing mirrors. When I got my new car recently (Kia Sportage) it came complete with reversing camera and try as I might, I cannot get used to it. I can still reverse more accurately and efficiently using my wing mirrors than with my new techno-toy.

Hi muddy did it come as standard or was it fitted later ? I'm tempted when I get my next car to get one but wasn't sure if there was any difference in the fitted as standard ?
