An invasive topic this one.I have had the pleasure of this procedure several times.
After the last time my local GP gave me the result, he is Irish & I asked (Freudian Slip) him how my Guinness enema had turned out
Without changing his expression he looked over the top of his glasses & commented,
"That sure is a waste of good Guinness."
Us men over 60 now regularly have prostrate examinations, which are ok as long as the nurse has short nails.
I should say that , joking aside, I hold the staff who carry out these intimate procedures in the greatest esteem. it's not something I could do day in & day out.

Did you know that you can have a colonic instead of those nasty laxatives? Not many hospitals offer it tho, but you could book one a few hours before the colonoscopy privately (about £60 I think).Also, if anyone ever has a sigmoidoscopy - ask for an enema rather than laxatives. The reason they prefer laxatives is because it is less time/work for their them. Laxatives are nasty, and not without danger.
