Aysa, Do you not think friendship is a two way thing and maybe one, unintentionally, doesn't pull their weight?
Even if you don't hear from them, they may think about you often and would always be there for you.

We about five good friends whom we met in our youth, we have lots of friendly acquaintances though.

I know exactly who my friends are as they are usually the ones I've known for years and can trust completely.
Internet 'friends' are fine but it's hard to get to know somebody if you can't speak to them face to face.

But you can get a sense of who is genuine and who is not. But all the same, it's quite difficult (unless you're rather shallow) to know anybody properly from a few lines of chatter and the odd smiley.

Mmmm , experience has taught me to choose my friends carefully now . Friends who I once believed in moved on after I saw the reality of who they truly were and decided not to be so trusting .

A painful few words once said

At the end it's not the words of your enemy's you'll remember , but the silence of your friends .

Not everyone is a true friend , some choose to stay while the going is good . I write this from wisdom and learned experience sadly

I choose my friends carefully also Susan ..Ive been badly bitten by someone on here and wont forget that experience ....even though they seem to think it was nothing to me it was anything but.
