Re: Diversity? or Under Duress?

Hi

Discrimination exists, a simple fact of life.

Women in particular are discriminated against.

They have Career Breaks, they have children, men do not get pregnant.

It is not about appointing a certain number of women, it is about levelling the playing field.

Here in the UK we are a long way behind others.

We are not a Meritocracy, we are still miles behind others.

We have the Masons, Golf Clubs and Private Members Clubs.
Male dominated.

Parliament is a great example.

There is absolutely no logical reason for the stupid hours they work, very female unfriendly.

The oscars and other such awards are only a self pat on the back to say look how good we are. Nobody else cares who got what for what

Nowt wrong with the Masons or golf or private member's clubs.
As for working hours in Westminster, if women are not prepared to march in step then they should not take the pay and rations.

Very true. They make absolutely no difference to me, anyway. If I watch a film it is based on the story line and I couldn't care less who the actors or the director are.

I haven't seen the film. But I listen to the radio (ABC) all the time. All reports I heard - not just from critics - were that it was an especially fine movie. So I'll wait till I see it before I judge.

There is working, and Staying awake, two distinct propositions.
