School girl skirts

I see in the papers that yet another school has banned their girl pupils from wearing skirts, because it distracts the male teachers.
I pity the girls, and their parents, and have the view that if the male teachers cannot control themselves, they are in the wrong profession.

Re: School girl skirts

I agree TBH I would be banning the male teachers who view the children in that way

Re: School girl skirts

It's absurd reasoning. Predatory teachers prey on children because the student is young and vulnerable. Predatory female teachers mostly prey on young men, what are they going to ban them from wearing, tight PE shorts?

I find it unbelievable to hear about the banning of skirts, how very odd. If the girls are wearing them too short , impose a certain length must be worn

Do you girls remember when we had to wear those awful navy blue knickers for sports? There was nothing attractive about them .

Re: School girl skirts

Time to think about doing away with school uniform, imo, but perhaps that's another argument

The mind boggles-a pupil is a person teacher`s should try to help to love learning. It`s their brain not their legs.

Dreadful to think that even the teachers can not be trusted if their mind is wandering on the young girls.

Harks back to the rape defence of 'she was asking for it she wore something provocative'....

Slippery slope to be on.

Re: School girl skirts

A couple of years ago girls weren't allowed wear trousers in school either, funny old world ain't it.
I remember when the mini skirt came out first, cries of disgraceful, they are asking for it, and what have you. Not a bit of it, the mini shirt came and went without an epidemic of sexual crimes, I would not think our male teachers are stupid enough to be distracted by a pair of shapely legs and risk their career, legs that can be seen on any public transport and street anytime of day, if I was a teacher at that school I would be highly insulted by this and make a formal complaint.
