TV licence fee

The BBC are going to have to fund the free licenced for the Over 75's. Won't they just put everybody else's up to cover it, or perhaps make the age limit higher?
Is it fair or a stealth tax to make folk even worse off?
What are your thoughts?

The Government aren't pleased with the BBC are they.................
I think there'll be mayhem if they dare put the fee up to cover it
They will save a bit lets face it - Jeremy Clarkson gone ...........

Re: TV licence fee

It has been suggested the BBC should fund this new expense by charging those who use Iplayer but don't have a licence.

Maybe we will eventually have to quote our licence number to access I player.

Re: TV licence fee

I don't get this. Who "funded" it before? Over 75s have had a free tv licence for years now. How is it a 'new' expense?

The government paid for it, well we did. They want the BBC to pay for it now, well us.

Hmmm. That's what I thought. As I suspect it was never previously actually PAID then all this is just an excuse to increase the already exorbitant licence fee...

Re: TV licence fee

The BBC claim to be losing money because people are not buying the licence because they are not watching live tv, so they plan to charge for I Player
If they paid the likes of Clarkson, Norton et al less money they could save a fortune.
