Re: TV licence fee

At less than £3 a week I think we get a bargain with the BBC radio alone is worth that much to me.

Re: TV licence fee

I don't watch the Beeb much at all and very rarely listen to the radio unless I forget a cd for the car, which is mot time once a year, I take everything out of the car then. I do like the Sunday morning programmes though so I suppose that's worth a little bit. Roll on winter when they may show The Musketeers again! Now they're worth the fee!

When the Licence fee was frozen for 6 years, I guessed they would come up with something later.

I think that's fair...why should some watch for free what others have to pay for?

What happens if the BBC refuse, I wonder?
Can the government force them, or would it mean the free licence will be scrapped in that case?

I totally agree, Pats. It's a loophole that should be closed.

Re: TV licence fee

I wonder who pays for the BBC programmes shown overseas? When you think of all the repeats, we paid for them once already!

That would be fair - except - they were talking of charging anyone who has a computer/internet access. Now that, in my opinion, would not be fair.

I do not watch Iplayer - couldn't if I wanted to as I am in a low band width area - have tried to access it on occasions when someone on here has mentioned a particularly good programme - but it is not successful, so why should I pay a licence fee for something I do not use?

Re: TV licence fee

Perhaps they could do some kind of pay per view scheme or have a BBC package on main providers like Sky or Virgin and get their money through them.

Re: TV licence fee

It is time for Auntie to start advertising then we could all get it free.
Not complaining myself had a free one for the last 3 years.
