Calais Port

I see in the papers that the EU is to finance the doubling in size of Calais Port. They are demanding that the UK pay £57m towards it.

Re: Calais Port

If they are doubling the size does that mean double the migrants??

I know we used to own Calais but didn't we lose it in 1558?

We already pay £11.3 billion pa to the EU

Re: Calais Port

Time perhaps to re-invade the "Pale" of Calais and reclaim it for its rightful ruler the English Monarch. Typical of France to want to invest on someone else's dime, they've been living off the EU since its inception.

Re: Calais Port

It certainly makes you wonder who won the war doesn't it? These countries that were begging us for help against the Germans are now telling us what to do and to top it all the Germans are now far better off than we are and they lost the war! My old man must be turning in his grave.😠

Re: Calais Port

well I think it goes something like this:

first ya start with a small island - nothing flashy - bad weather usually and then ya build an empire where the sun never sets - and THEN ya sets it free - and THEN ya becomes a small island again PET and because ya've been sa friendly and generous PET - everyone wants ta come and live wiv ya!

A tale of 26 cities!

I also think that Silver Tabby, that we should tell the EU, in no uncertain terms where to stick their pipe.
We are supposed to have a referendum just wonder how that will turn out?
Pound to a penny we won"t get out .

Well I'll be closely watching your referendum as an outsider, because if you go out we usually follow suit (hopefully)
