Religions can come together

When I see and read this I do think there is some hope for good in the world

MKJ, religion has always united folks of different faiths, good example sport.

I think these three men could change the world, Pope Frances, the Rabbi Abraham and Omar Abbhoud the Argentinian leader of Muslims

Abbhoud himself classified the Pope as the spiritual authority of the modern world.

As a non-catholic and not wanting to be one I can still understand the statement and see the sense in it

Errrrr........ I think any study of history would actually show the total opposite. Any philosophy which claims itself to be a universal truth has always been and will continue to be divisive. This also includes political "religions" which are regarded as unassailable truths - Nazism, Pol Pot's version of communism, what the Chinese called "Marxism Leninism MaoTseTung Thought" during the cultural revolution. Any philosophy (religious or otherwise) which rejects criticism as "blasphemy" or "revisionism" has within it the seeds of totalitarian dictatorship.

Call me a cynic but when it suits, mankind is apt to revert far too quickly to prehistoric thinking
