Air Tanker Crash
Three American firefighters have died when a C-130 water tanker plane crashed while battling a blaze in southern NSW on Thursday.ACT Emergency Services confirmed the large air tanker crashed while fighting a blaze near Cooma, north-east of the Snowy Mountains.
"It's just a ball of flames...over," a nearby plane said in radio communications with flight control.
The NSW Premier said flags will fly at half mast tomorrow.

Heard it had gone missing earlier Bruce, a pretty sad business. My condolences to all of those involved and my respects to all of your fire and emergency services, who are performing well beyond the norm this season.Here's wishing Australia's fortunes improve sooner rather than later.

Thanks on behalf of everyone here. It's crazy here. Today it was 42 degrees cel on the coast with very low humidity. NOw at 10.15 pm it's a massive thunderstorm with driving rain, lightning, thunder and fierce wind. I feel like I'm in Darwin in the middle of monsoon. We are so grateful for the guys that have come from the US, Canada and NZ to help with the fires. THose three guys are as good as war heroes and they will be remembered forever.
