Perhaps it the same reason why phones are so popular with females.
I recall reading that back in the late 1800's, when the new technology of telephones was trying to get off the ground, Alexander Graham Bell approached a wealthy potential investor. The wealthy man turned Bell down by saying, "It will never make any money because women would never use the telephone". Ha Ha

What – no dawn chorus? I wouldn't know anyway as I don't have one of those females who do all that – if I don't cook it then I go hungry!
