Palms and other tropicals, Winter treatment.

Back in the summer, our local garden centre had a sale, I bought some palms and a Fatsia, also a Monstera Deliciosa and a Jacaranda tree from neighbours.

Now it's getting colder should I wrap them, put them in the greenhouse or leave them to it? They're in pots mostly, just one palm is in the ground. My garden has a fence all around so quite sheltered.

Any advice would be appreciated.

I seem to remember that Monty puts them in his greenhouse over winter.

What about me succulents LD?
Should I leave them all exposed or tuck them in all cosy-like?

Fatsias can stand frost....but only in the ground not pots...and Monstera have got to be in the ground if you want to see their leaves grow huge....good depth of soil...loadsa water and manure.
If all in pots put them indoors for the winter.

Hi

I have six palms, all in pots.

They are a bit heavy to move, so, on advice I have got some thick fleece and am making bags to wrap the entire pot and plant in.

Tess, there's quite a bit of info about Palms here:

https://www.palmcentre.co.uk/info/ha...rees-care.html

And here's something that may help with your succulents:

https://surrealsucculents.co.uk/cari...s-over-winter/

And found just this little bit about your Fatsias:

Taking Care of Fatsia japonica

Hardy in most areas of UK.
Protect plant in severe weather.
It can be killed back to the core in a very bad winter but should sprout again from ground level in spring. In milder years it will remain evergreen.
