Incidentally, (and off topic) one of the reasons why lorries were being delayed (slightly) on the Dover-Calais crossing straight after Brexit was because nobody knew what to do about customs forms for empty trailers. It was figured out in a few hours and now they are just let through. Another fact avoided by the fact checkers and the MSM.

As far as our waters are concerned, another fear mongering pile of crap that the media are coming out with is that "Super Trawlers Given Licenses to Continue Fishing UK Waters After Brexit !!!"....

Except these licenses are interim, temporary licenses, issued by the UK Government to all fishing vessels to avoid any disruption after Brexit. They all have to apply for permanent licenses soon so we will see what happens when they do.
One thing they reported recently was that the reason there was no
chaos at Dover was because drivers were avoiding Dover and were
using other routes to return to Europe?
Surely this would have caused chaos elsewhere wouldn't it? And
added costs to their trip?
I had to laugh when they asked a couple of drivers if they had any
problems on the way and they said no everything was normal !!
BTW, How did the new EU ferry service to Dublin go off??

Not worthy of a new thread & I think it fits here, so ............

That's from just before the deal was announced too.
Oh & it excludes don't know's etc. - which was around a third of those asked, so not much more than the referendum turnout.

Quite right, but certain parts of our society seem to rely upon them so IMHO it seems only right that their stance is considered.

Relying on them is one thing, but being brainwashed by them is rather more worrying.
Of course, it all depends upon who is carrying out the polls!

Of course, it all depends upon who is carrying out the polls!
And upon how they are interpreted by who is reading them and then publishing the findings in our media.

Re: A Cheer For Boris!

Some positive news from the past few days?

Asos is creating 2,000 new jobs.

That'll help to further boost the UK's job market - which strengthened in December while by comparison (and using the same measures remember) the EU's unemployment rate continues to rise, still being much higher than that in the UK.

The UK's PMI points towards growth while the Eurozones remains negative.

Our government are going to review the hateful feudal leasehold system for housing.

Significantly more doctors, nurses, police and teachers were recruited in 2020 and the trend will continue this year.

Re: A Cheer For Boris!

It looks like Boris is ready to start changing the old ways of doing things.

" ‘Treasury North’ leads march of civil servants out of London" says the FT.

"Following the Covid-19 pandemic, the prime minister is seeking to accelerate his efforts to decentralise the UK government and “level up” the country by tackling regional inequalities.

He wants to relocate 22,000 civil service jobs from central London to the regions by 2030."

The Telegraph is saying:
"A new report by the Northern Policy Federation, backed by MPs, says 50,000 civil servants should be moved out of London to Leeds, Manchester, York and Newcastle to overcome a lack of diversity of thought in Government departments."

The civil service will hate that.

The people at the top will not want to relocate. What a great way to thin out the mandarins and replace them with common sense and a work ethic that will actually get things done.

The government should call it "Project Fck 'Em"
