Could you/Would you ...

Watch a film or TV programme if the leading actor was someone you really disliked?

I have been watching DVDs of 'Waking the Dead' The leading actor is Trevor Eve. I find him, and the characters he mainly plays, completely repellent - but the stories were good and the support cast - Sue Johnston, Holly Aird, Clare Goose, and Wil Johnson - were so good Trevor Eve paled into insignificance.

Then we hit Series 5 - Clare Goose has been killed off and Holly Aird just disappears - a succession of mediocre others replaced them and it went down hill from there. It was no longer possible to ignore Trevor Eve - so I stopped watching.

I struggle tbh. We watched 'A few good men' the other night with my two least favourite actors, Tom Cruise and Jack Nicholson. Not a bad film in itself but I cringed every time I saw Cruise's face making all the wrong expressions.

I also agree with Trevor Eve being a bit cringeworthy and Claire Goose, a good actress.

Yes, if it was a good in my opinion, drama/ series or film, because there isn't an actor I dislike, but I do have favourites.

I have a similar problem only it's my partner who has a list of actors/actresses who she refuses to watch.

I enjoyed Waking The Dead.

I couldn’t EVER watch anything with Johnny Depp. He has a face I want to slap.

It wouldn't bother me if I didn't like a particular actor, the part they are playing should take care of that though I rarely watch any 'dramas' these days .

Too right there. The most arrogant, over rated, no talent, supercilious jerk Hollywood has produced. Now that he can't get by on his (wet) looks anymore he is a total zero. He is persona no grata in this country after his last "performance" in Gold Coast. Can't stand the sight of him.

How could anyone dislike Johnny Depp especially his performance in Pirates of the Caribbean as Jack Sparrow ..brilliant. I tend not to have massive likes or dislikes but I make an exception with Keith Lemon...can't abide him so I wouldnt watch if he was in it....I'm not keen on Jim Carey either its the faces he pulls.
