The thing is, if CERN is successful this year and they do find the Graviton , it will mean that there is a Fifth Dimension.

We will then be entering a whole new branch of science

Time dilation explains how it is possible to travel away from a point and return to find a difference in experienced time between those who stayed and those who traveled but not that it is possible to return to a point before the time those traveling left.

As long as we don't meet our younger or older selves.

Or change history.

How would anyone time-travel without doing any of that?

Hi

Well we cannot meet our older or younger sleves, because the physics does not allow you to be in two places at the same time.

You could, if you had children and they stayed on Earth when you took off, return to meet your grandchildren, who would be older than you.

That would be weird.

You cannot change history either, but you could change the future.

All this goes out of the door however if we find that the Fith Dimension exists, because then we would have to rewrite the rules.
