A relief
I meet my wife in 1964 she was a 19 year old barmaid and I was a 21 year old piss head and soldier.We got engaged the next year and I brought a second hand engagement ring for £35 (wages £10 a week) got thrown back at me a couple of times.... but there you go.
Wedding ring cost £5 nothing specil.
She in later life suffered from Lupis and her fingers shrank
At her death 4 years ago both rings where missing, she had stated in the past that they had slipped off her shrunking fingers.
Today I was sorted out a small basket on the dressing table and found $1 and 10 cents $3.50 in old Irish money £1 and 4 pence in proper money and my wifes engagment ring.
