Whoops sorry, I answered Sparky's post before I read the rest of the thread!

An old farmer friend of mine used his old milk church as a postbox. He had it chained to the farm gate to save the postman driving across 4 fields to get to the house.
That's how I knew what it was.

funny isn't it, I spent years around farms and to be honest I can't actually remember taking any notice of the milk churns, it must just have been something that subconsciously stuck in my head. lol
