The worst thing is when you hear "Coo ee Pete and politely wave back....then realize she was waving at a guy just behind you a bit further up the road.

I had a sort of similar experience this evening. And elderly lady came to our door. We know each other from dog walking. But she had the wrong door.
"Oh it's you!" she exclaimed..
It was dark so I walked her to the correct door on the opposite side of the green then back to her car. I didn't know what else to do.

I don't think she should have been out by herself in the darkness. Nor should I but at least I have my big, faithful dog with me.
