There is another version of the Police Box - a smaller one which merely contained a telephone connected to the nearest Police station. The local beat policeman, had a key which opened the box.

Hi UJ...the one that you're describing, is the same kind they used in Toronto...back in the day. Sorry, but I cannot recall the colour...but the boxes themselves, were quite small...and the officers all carried a key...
