New words

Do you ever think up new words for things when you can't think of a usual one?

I offered my daughter the use of my shopping trolley as her village is cut off (roadworks) and she's leaving her car some distance away.
She said she doesn't need it so I replied, " That's good, it's in the shed and I'd have to de-spiderize it!"

A chap I worked with in Boots used to call cold weather, "chillidiferous".

Are there any new (non offensive) words you have invented?

Re: New words

My sister in law invented new words when her boys were small - like Crocodilligator, because she could not tell difference between Crocodiles and alligators. Also Kangorillapigs to cover any animal she could not name when they asked!

Mine are Grumpasaurus for someone in a bad mood, and Cattypussnap for sleeping - that one goes back to childhood!!

Love the 'de-spiderise'!

This going to be an interesting thread.

Re: New words

My cats have their 'Moolies' which is LD for a brush. No idea how that started but it has stuck and they understand it when I say 'Who wants Moolies?'
