These are two of my music boxes. I think, they were to keep cigarettes in.The carousel one is closed but opens and plays a tune when you wind it up.
The radiogram plays a tune and the record turns on the turntable.

I bought a Musical box for my granddaughter's 18th birthday last year.

Mags. I haven’t played them for a while so it was good that this thread reminded me of them. I’m not sure why l love musical boxes but they fascinated me when l was a child.
I bet your granddaughter loved her musical box. I’m sure it will be something she will keep all of her life and remember you as she opens it and the music plays.

I love restoring stuff but I don't really have the room to do large items inside. I have done one or two in the garden....I'm waiting for good weather to do a dressing table so I don't gas myself with the fumes...other than that just normal stuff although I do play backgammon and scrabble a lot.03-04-2019, 06:23 AM
