Rant alert! Useless wasteful Council!
For the last five years (at least) we have been asking the council for our road to be resurfaced. We have potholes like moon craters and all they do is send two men with buckets of dry tar and shovels. They fill the holes, jump up and down on them, pat them with the shovels - and disappear. The first time a car drives over them they scatter the dry tar all over the road, and the first time there is any frost - it all breaks up and is even worse than before the men came.Imagine, then, our joy when - on Monday morning - this massive vehicle turned up - shaking the houses, making a huge amount of noise - and began ripping the surface from the road at the bottom end of the street. The car owners and the people who use mobility scooters, wheelchairs etc., were delighted - but only for a little while. The men were there for three short hours and then packed up ready to go.
They had resurfaced only one short piece of road that was undamaged and had no potholes because it is not used - because it goes nowhere - it is a dead end - backing onto the school, with only a footpath leading to the main road!
When asked why they had only done that bit - came the answer - that was all the council could afford this year!
Am I being cynical in noticing that the nice, new, smooth road begins outside the house of the daughter of one of our Councillors? Don't be silly - it is pure coincidence!

Tabby, if you are so cross about this, why not write to the council & ask who made the final decision on which piece of road was in the most need of repair!Ask for an urgent reply, as many residents would like to know who is making these decisions, that are financed by the council tax that you are paying.
You could then make a leaflet & print more on your PC, so you could put it through the doors where the the potholes are really bad. Councillors need to know that their position may be damaged by the actions they wrongly decide upon!
