And another one bites the dust.

Gavin "spider man" Williamson's been given the Bums Rush by Theresa for releasing confidential information obtained during discussions involving Huawei.

Pity that Theresa isn't sacked for her dreadful abuse of her present position.

Re: And another one bites the dust.

Who sacks May?
Is this just a pr exercise to portray May as decisive and able
to act on her own initiative?
Does the fact that she has appointed another woman to
the defence job have any implications on the security of the
UK, bearing in mind the complete hash the pm herself has
made of brexit negotiations with her utter failure to be able
to stand up to the eu commission in talks!
She opted to do all her arguing on this side of the channel
and not on the other where it counted!
Will this new woman be of the same ilk?
Maybe the problems brexit faced were compounded by the
fact that there were four female leaders involved with brexit!
And now we have another in a key position?
I am not a misogynist, just doubt womens ability to act
rationally under stress!

I should damn well think so - he was in a position of trust and he abused it no doubt for his own agenda.

A pity they can't sack Treason May as well for her not carrying out the result of a democratic vote to take us out of the EU rather than the BRINO option she's trying to railroad through.

May should go as well, the cabinet is not under her control.

Re: And another one bites the dust.

The sacking of Williamson conveniently came on the same day as Theresa May gave evidence to the Commons liaison committee about Brexit and it took media attention away from her dismal performance when lots of words were spoken but nothing was actually said. It was the same old meaningless rhetoric.

For any member of the National Security Council to leak anything is unforgivable, it just isn't done for people of integrity to do that. I hope they got the right culprit.

Hi

I agree completely Meg.

The NSC is the one place you do not leak anything, it puts lives at risk.

If you get a leak from there it puts us all at risk.

The professionals will simply not tell the Politicians to protect themselves and their staff.

Much as I loathe and detest Blair, there was not a single leak when he was in charge.

We are now in a New Era, not only with May, but with Corbyn and Abbott.

If they get into power it will be a disaster.

Re: And another one bites the dust.

A bad mistake from PM, this may backfire if Mr Williamson decides to cause trouble for her as a back bencher.

Remember Geoffrey Howe brought down Mrs Thatcher, he resigned in protest, then delivered speech which sealed her fate.

Re: And another one bites the dust.

Ok, so our Gavin has a loose mouth apparently?
But what was the big secret he supposedly revealed that
could cause us unbeleivable consequences!
It is alleged he revealed the fact that the government had
awarded a contract to a chinese firm! Surely that is not so
serious! Does'nt that sort of info have to come into the public
domain eventually anyway?
If he could be proven guilty of releasing info from a top
secret meeting, then surely it can only be for pre-empting
what would have to happen anyway?
Or am l mixed up somewhere?
If guilty it means he should not be trusted with sensitive
information ever again, thats all imo!
