Re: Voted today!

Strange how the second largest gain in councilors was under the heading 'Others' no mention of Nigel's Brexit party? I guess the BBC lumped it in with 'Others'.....Well done BBC you biased barstewards....

Very perceptive of you OGF, l wondered what had happened
to him? I have allready mentioned the the blatant bias of
the BBC elsewhere on the forum, but unfortunately other
forum members didnt see any merit in my proposition!

Very sensibly BREXIT placed no candidates in any of the local elections (AFAIK) because what was being decided was local politics. It would have been disingenuous to have done otherwise.

The message from the electorate seems pretty clear though. The only thing that never ceases to amaze me is how anyone could ever vote Labour.

So who are others Todger?
It would be interesting if any forum members had a 'Brexit Party' included in the list of candidates....

Re: Voted today!

Hi

As has been said, the Brexit Party did not put up any Candidates at all.

The Others were predominately Independents, people voted for them rather than vote Tory or Labour.

Interestingly, the media are reporting that the Remain Parties, the Greens and Lib Dems did well.

Yes, they did, but it was a protest vote against the Big Two.

I think things will change in 3 weeks at the EU Elections.

The protest vote will then go to the Brexit Party, which wasn't on the Ballot Paper this time.

The thing that annoys me the most is that neither Labour or Conservatives have learnt a thing.

They were still treating us like idiots this morning, both sides claiming victory and blaming each other.

It is my view that they need to be given a huge kicking in the European Elections, at least we will be able to vote for the Brexit Party in that one.

Labour should have walked it, but I, like many others, simply will not vote for Corbyn, Abbott and Momentum.

There was no brexit party in my area, but strangely there was
no labour either?
The thing l find disturbing is the rise of the lib-dems? People
are voting for what they apparently are protesting about?
The good signs are the gains the independants madel
I also have the same question as OGF! Who were the others?

"Others" include single local interest candidates and the like. A "Dont prosecute Bill Stickers" candidate as a (silly) example.

Re: Voted today!

And there was John McDonnell last night saying Labour would get an extra 400 seats.

Oh dear.

Another failure at the ballot box
