Tracking Parcels.

Hi

Do you do it or just wait in?

I must admit that I am fascinated by it.

My Fence Panels, made less then 20 miles away.

Ordered Friday at 3pm.

Sent from Dunfermline, then to a Depot in Leicestershire and then to Stoke on Trent.

Arrived yesterday morning.

How do they do it?

Delivery costs were less than ordering direct.

How does that work?

A bit odd that they are made 20miles away, but had to be sent from Dunfermline.

That's not doing much for carbon-saving!

Re: Tracking Parcels.

Businesses that rely on delivering goods to customers usually have contracts with particular services to make the deliveries on very competitive terms.

When a delivery is required that is in some way outside the services contracted then the cost as a one off is usually a whole lot more than if they had used their 'usual' agent.

I quite like tracking my parcels - some of them make really interesting journeys.

Yep I am with you on this one. The app on my phone beeps at me when something changes.

I hate the parcels that pop up as being on their way but then remain silent until they are 'Ready for collection' or 'Will be delivered today'.

Think of it this way, with all the Tech and Apps putting folks out of work, we won't be able to afford parcels soon.

Parcels are the one thing that is keeping Australia Post going and they track every parcel (though, as I said, not always for all the journey).
