All the acting and singing aside. Doris Day was an outspoken. hardworking advocate for the protection of animals, and her foundation was one of the best around.

I hope that wherever she is, she is greeted with a thousand wagging tails and furry faces.

When i was a little girl my party piece was Que Serra...I loved Doris Day....not the romantic films so much but Calamity Jane is still my favourite film of all time.

As a young boy, a week or two ago, my bedroom wall was covered in pictures of beautiful Doris Day carefully cut from magazines.

RIP, Miss Day

One of the rare, truly fine people of Hollywood. She lived her life in public as in private, and seemed happy with each chapter of her life.

What a sweetie. You don't find many like her.

This sounds awful, but I hope this means we will now have a lovely glut of her movies on TV. I do hope so.
