I used to have this problem, I was getting a fair few emails that weren't for me. In the end I replied to one of them and asked the sender for the correct address so I could forward all the stray emails. That worked well for a few years, me and the other "me" used to email back and forth regularly, until she moved and changed to a different email address.I quite miss our little chats
More recently I've been getting account alerts from Halifax Building Society, I've seen what this other (unknown) person with the same name as me is buying, how much overdrawn they are etc. I've contacted Halifax and they said there's nothing they can do and my email address can only be removed from their database if I go into a branch and fill out a form
So now it's all directed to spam.An ongoing problem is my phone number which is 1 digit different to a local insurance brokers, I get people ringing up for quotes all the bloody time. I asked BT if I could change my number but the only one available was 1 digit different to a chinese takeaway

As Art says, there is a full stop difference.

The email address is not one I use for banking etc.
There are a few members on here who have my email address and no problems, it is just his info which is arriving at mine.
I do not bank with the Halifax, never been overdrawn, never had a 15 Plate Vauxhall, I have an 11 plate Ford Cmax, I do not live in York, I do not have an O2 Contract Phone and I am not known for visiting Gay Porn Sites.
I am strictly heterosexual with a well known thing for tall, slim, blondes.
It is his problem, not mine.

Hi SwimI've had a similar problem with one of my emails. Kept getting emails from a garage saying his car was ready to collect and all sorts of other things.
I have to email the garage CEO specifically to complain about it.
When nothing happened I emailed again saying that under the Data Protection Act I am instructing them to remove my email address from all areas of their system and that failure to do so would result in legal action. That got their attention because most companies know they have Data Protection Act duties and responsibilities, but often pay them lip service.
A few people jumped into action and said things were sorted but I got further emails from their computer system so went back. They found another part of the system that still had my email address in there, and finally removed it. Job done.
I would seek to do likewise to avoid future hassle esp if the guy is in debt. He may have debt collectors chasing him and you don't want he hassle of them knocking on your door.
