Re: Over 50's Club Scotland (part 3)

Hi

Hello from Rngland.

I would normally be getting my fishing stuff ready for a trip up for a Spring Salmon.

No chance again this year.

I do so miss it, lovely people and food and conversion, so much better when they realise that you do think Boris is a prat and that you are not a rich toff and had had to save up for the trip.

Afternoon All, For once it's not too bad here today. Took a clifftop walk with the dog and camera, saw a Fisheries Protection Vessel out patrolling too. That should keep the local fishermen happy.
Caught up with everything again so off to have a go at my my knitting, not picked it up for ages..

Hi Roxy thank goodness we have them patrolling the waters. I always used to knit all the time, I still have a baby blanket that I started in the cupboard. Maybe if one of the family I'll finish it.

I'm not a great knitter, I can manage baby jackets, but a friend of mine knitted a pram cover for my daughter when she was pregnant, It was gorgeous made up of squares ..4 leaves in a square there was about 24 of these squares and you had to sew them all together then sew a piece of quilting on the wrong side and finish with a crotchet edging .I thought I'd try one and it actually worked ,couldn't believe it...

Paula I used to knit baby jackets, also arran jumpers and Icelandic. Just wish I'd kept some of the patterns I had. A bit of shopping and this and that today for me.

Re: Over 50's Club Scotland (part 3)

Morning All, Wall to wall sea fog here today, no sign of it lifting either. Walked the dog, stood and watched him play and run with another dog on the beach, he had a grand time while I sat and waited lol. So not a big walk for me but he was knackered.
I was a great knitter still have patterns from the 1950s, they were my mums, they had some lovely sweater patterns back then. I always knitted the kids jumpers and my daughter still likes a knitted one from me each year as part of her Christmas. Usually she picks an arran one.

I think it's lovely to see a baby dressed in a home knitted jacket,,,,,I remember seeing a baby boy in his pram....he looked a couple of weeks old and it looked like black leather or pvc he was dressed in...
