It's an awkward time to be trying these things unfortunately Carol, but I wish you luck with your search.

As Mart correctly says good sound is in the ear of the beholder so what works well for others might not work for you.

My OH finds a set of decent (Bose in this case) noise-cancelling headphones suits the majority of her viewing needs, or (as I said before) the surround-sound system so I would hope that you can find a soundbar that suits.
