Flu Injection!

It's that time of year again, flu injection being offered at our GP's, do you have a jab every year?
I shall have my usually yearly dose!

Re: Flu Injection!

Looking forward to mine, had 4 really bad chest infections before I had my first jab last year and none since I had it so I am thinking it works ! I have the pneumonia one too, one in each arm sore for a while but worth it.

Re: Flu Injection!

Well I didn't have one for ages when they said they were for the mad pig disease or whatever, laugh. I had one last year as I was 65 so thought go on then you live or die with it. I wont have the pneumonia one because of the side effects it can give. I read that if you are 65 or over it doesn't work as good as it does on the younger people. So not bothered about that one. We have our jabs for the flu in October too.

Re: Flu Injection!

The pneumonia one supposed to last 10 years.
Flu ones we tend to wait until November when we get back from holiday.
Still got a virus from end Feb until end of May.

Re: Flu Injection!

When we had our appointment with our diabetic nurse last month - she smilingly said as she was drawing out the blood, I'll be doing your 'flu jab soon.
We had the pneumonia one a couple of years ago.
I believe ours start in October too.

The side effects from the pneumonia vaccine are no different or worse than the minor effects that some get from the flu jab.

Re: Flu Injection!

I don't because I don't like needles. Would rather have the flu instead.
