I once asked a similar question on another forum & one lady answered me truthfully.

She said she was old - she had an old face and she didn't want people judging her on her looks and not on what she had to say.

I can understand & sympathise with that..

That makes sense, Carol, and I think she was right.

Whether she was old, or the opposite - young and sexy - I can see people might form an opionion based on that rather than what she said.
