The japanese have great respect for their ancestors, they themselves don't need artifacts to remember. The written word (on scrolls) suffice.
But for tourists they are happy to provide...

Long time ago. 1990, oncology congress tokyo, spent 3 days extra. Beautiful country, wonderful people.
